With three double-digit wins, Rosspoint captured the championship in the seventh- and eighth-grade division of the Black Bears Tipoff Tournament on Saturday at Harlan County High School.
Gunnar Johnson scored 11 points and Gage Bailey added 10 as Rosspoint pulled away in the second half for a 56-42 win over Evarts in the championship game.
Aidan Reynolds scored 20 points and Ashton Sizemore added 13 for the Wildcats.
Rosspoint moved into the championship game with a 50-32 win over Cumberland. Cole Cornett led the Wildcats with 15 points.
Kaden Adams scored 12 and Brayden Casolari added 11 to lead Cumberland.
Reynolds poured in 22 points as Evarts rolled into the finals with a 45-17 win over Green Hills.
Ethan Huff paced the Falcons with 10 points.
Evarts came from behind to edge Cawood 42-37, Green Hills eliminated Black Mountain 45-43 and Rosspoint rolled past James A. Cawood 68-37 in first-round games.
Huff fired in a game-high 25 points to lead the Falcons. Dalton Halcomb scored 15 while David Halcomb added five.
Black Mountain was led in scoring by Reggie Cottrell’s 17-point performance.
Cornett poured in 15 points and Jayce Brown scored 12 in Rosspoint’s victory.
Brennan Blevins had 13 points to lead the Trojans. Landon Brock and Kaden Jones each scored 12.
Aston Sizemore and Reynolds powered Evarts with 16 and 15 points, respectively
Brady Smith paced the Comets with 17 points. Ethan Shuler added 16.
