Lady Dragons lose three games in Lady Royals Showcase

After losing a hard-fought game at home to Knox Central in its season opener, the Harlan Lady Dragons traveled to Mason County and dropped three games in the Lady Royals Showcase.
Senior forward Hannah Adkins fired in 18 points as Mason County defeated the Lady Dragons 42-36 in the opening game of the classic on Dec. 3.
Freshman forward Kylie Noe led Harlan with 18 points. Aymanni Wynn tossed in 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
On Dec. 4, Harlan fell to Bishop Brossart 60-29 and lost a 60-57 decision to Campbell County.
Junior guard Olivia Lloyd led the Lady Mustangs of Bishop Brossart with 14 points.
Wynn and Noe each scored seven points for the Lady Dragons.
Senior forwards Aliya Bauer and Kylie Koeninger powered Campbell County with 16 and 13 points, respectively.
Sophomore point guard Emma Owens poured in 19 points. Noe scored 17 points and Wynn added 11 to lead Harlan.
Harlan claimed a forfeit win over Hazard on Dec. 6.
The Lady Dragons’ game at Betsy Layne last Wednesday has been rescheduled for Feb. 5.
Harlan (1-4) plays host to district-rival Middlesboro on Tuesday in the first game of a girls/boys doubleheader at 6. The Lady Dragons will travel to Letcher Central on Thursday.
