Senior guard Jordan Akal, the second all-time leading scorer in Harlan High School history as a five-year starter, signed with King University to continue his basketball career.

With over 2,500 points in his five seasons as a starting guard, Harlan’s Jordan Akal has placed himself among the school’s all-time greats.
Akal has led Harlan to three straight 13th Region All “A” Classic titles, three straight trips to the 13th Region Tournament and the school’s first 52nd District Tournament title since 2000. He added another impressive achievement on Friday as he was selected as KABC 13th Region Coaches Association Player of the Year.
Now a candidate for Kentucky Mr. Basketball, Akal will represent the 13th Region in the balloting for the state’s most prestigious basketball honor. The award ceremony will be held March 20 in Lexington.
