Huff leads Bears to win at Knott Central

Harlan County sophomore guard Maddox Huff, pictured in action earlier this summer, scored 38 points on Tuesday in the Bears’ 58-56 win at Knott Central.

The Harlan County Black Bears continued their strong summer with a 58-56 win Tuesday at Knott Central.
Sophomore guard Maddox Huff poured in 38 points as the Bears improved 9-1 on the summer. Daniel Carmical added 11 points. Caleb Johnson tossed in four, while Jaycee Carter added three and Terry Michael Delaney scored two.
Harlan County won 54-42 in junior varsity action as Delaney and Reggie Cottrell each scored 11 and Hunter Napier added 10 for the Bears. Ethan Simpson scored seven. Brennan Blevins, Aidan Reynolds and Taelor Haywood scored four each. Evan Simpson chipped in with three.
Delaney scored 17 as the Bears fell 51-36 in freshman action. Napier scored eight, followed by Reynolds with six, Cottrell with three and Gage Peck with two.
The Bears return to action Friday in the KBC Tournament in Lexington.
