James A. Cawood won twice while Rosspoint and Cawood each won once to tip off the fifth- and sixth-grade county basketball season on Friday at Harlan County High School in the Harlan County Preseason Panorama.
The Trojanettes opened with a 26-20 win over Black Mountain as Lia Kate Carter led JACES with 10 points. Natalie Moore scored five as JACES closed the night with a 27-r2 rout of Evarts.
Campbell Thompson scored eight and Addy Cochran added seven in Cawood’s 19-1 win over Cumberland.
Jaycee Simpson poured in 14 points as Rosspoint downed Wallins 38-8.
The county seventh- and eighth-grade panorama is set for Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. at HCHS.
