Lady Cats sweep JACES in county action

Jaylee Cochran scored 15 and Reagan Clem added 10 to lead a balanced attack as Rosspoint rolled past visiting James A. Cawood 47-16 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action Thursday.
Lia-Kate Carter and Carmen Thomas led JACES with five points each.
Shasta Brackett poured in 21 points as the Lady Cats pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 33-23 win in fifth- and sixth-grade action.
Tay Napier paced Rosspoint with 14 points.

Black Mountain won two of three games Thursday against visiting Mountain View.
The Tigerettes fell 34-33 in the seventh- and eighth-grade game despite 16 points from Maddie Bennett.
Vanessa Griffith scored 14 while Kelsie Middleton and Gracie Youngs added 10 each as Black Mountain won 42-35 in fifth- and sixth-grade action.
Madison Woods scored eight as the Tigerettes won 14-11 in a fourth-grade game.
