Harlan County’s Luther Gross defended as a Whitley County player advanced the ball in soccer action Monday at the James A. Cawood field. The Bears fell 9-0 before bouncing back with a 4-2 win Tuesday at Middlesboro..

‘Harlan County earned a district soccer victory on Tuesday with a 4-2 win at Middlesboro.
Ray Spawn led the 2-4-1 Bears with two goals. Caydon Shanks and Matt Jones had one goal each. Noah Howard added an assist.
The Bears fell 9-0 to Whitley County on Monday and 5-0 to Jackson City on Saturday. HCHS won 10-0 at Buckhorn on Aug. 18 as Spawn led the Bears with four goals. Shanks and Brady Miller had two goals each. Bradley Brock and Howard had one goal each. Travis Burkhart recorded the shutout as the goal keeper.
