Runions leads Lady Devils to pair of victories

The Wallins Lady Devils won on back-to-back nights in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action, defeating Cawood 35-7 on Thursday and downing Tazewell, Tenn., 37-15 on Friday.
Kylee Runions scored 16 to lead the Lady Devils against Cawood and added 13 against Tazewell.
Wallins defeated Cawood 18-17 and Tazewell 16-14 in fifth- and sixth-grade action.
Braylie Wilson and Kylee Templeton each scored five against Cawood. Brylie Wilson added four, followed by Emma Moore and Brooklyn Haywood with two each.
The Lady Devils were led by Braylie Willson with seven against Tazewell. Mahalah Hall scored four, followed by Brylie Wilson with three and Haywood with two.

Three Lady Dragons reached double figures as Harlan coasted past visiting Barbourville 48-23 on Thursday in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Addison Campbell and Harper Carmical each scored 15 points and Peyshaunce Wynn added 10 to lead Harlan.
Marleigh Martin paced Barbourville with eight points.
Addyson Patton scored 16 as the Lady Dragons edged Barbourville 35-32 in fifth- and sixth-grade action.
Isabelle Lemar led Harlan to a 25-6 win in third- and fourth-grade action with 14 points.

Julia Vick scored 17 points to lead visiting Evarts past Cumberland 42-15 in seventh- and eighth-grade action Thursday.
Caitlyn Clayborn led the Lady Skins with eight points.
Audrianna Stewart scored 14 as Evarts coasted to an 18-0 win in fifth- and sixth-grade action.
The two teams played to a 2-2 in a fourth-grade game.

Harper Carmical drew a foul with one-tenth of a second left in a tie game Wednesday against visiting Williamsburg, then hit the second of two free throws to lift the Lady Dragons to a 47-46 victory in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Addison Campbell scored 15 and Peyshaunce Wynn added 13 to lead the Lady Dragons.
