HC’s Lunsford a winner at Bobcat Invitational

Harlan County and Harlan’s varsity and middle school teams competed at Bell County’s Bobcat Invitational Tuesday. Harlan County’s boys middle school team won overall, while both varsity teams placed second in their respective races. Harlan’s boys varsity team placed fourth.
Tanner Daniels led Harlan County in the boys middle school race, finishing first overall with a time of 11:07.53. Drew Sergent (13:28.99) placed fourth, while Kalob Stevens finished eighth with a time of 14:27.43. Rounding out the results for HC were Riley Fuson (ninth, 14:39.15) and Xavier Farley (13th, 16:03.96).
Michael Lindsey (19:28.23) led Harlan, finishing 16th. Landon Traylor placed 19th with a time of 25:45.50.
Gracie Roberts (15:31.57) led Harlan County in the girls middle school division, placing second overall. Kiera Roberts finished fourth with a time of 16:22.63. Autumn Farley placed 10th with a time of 18:53.25.
Harlan’s Brooklyn Evans finished 14th with a time of 25:21.55.
Harlan County’s Andrew Yeary (18:28.96) placed third overall in the boys varsity race, leading the Bears to their second place finish. Kaden Boggs (19:25.95) and Jacob Schwenke (19:36.01) finished seventh and 10th, respectively. Other finishers for Harlan County were Elijah Moore (16th, 21:04.14), Caleb Schwenke (17th, 21:09.46), Austin Crain (18th, 21:25.81), DaShaun Smith (20th, 23:11.43), Jonavan Rigney (25th, 26:12.54) and Caden Craig (29th, 32:50.71).
Dylan Cox led Harlan, finishing 11th with a time of 20:01.81. Brayden Howard (22nd) and Evan Bargo (24th) finished with times of 24:05.17 and 24:35.22, respectively. Other finishers for Harlan were Seth Coogle (27th, 30:45.64) and Connor Collins (28th, 30:58.82).
Peyton Lunsford led the Lady Bears, winning the girls varsity race with a time of 22:10.27. Kendall Brock (ninth) and Kylie Jones (10th) finished with times of 26:06.27 and 26:18.11, respectively. Rounding out the results for Harlan County were Sophie Day (12th, 26:40.95), Olivia Kelly (18th, 28:21.13), Addi Gray (19th, 28:34.52) and Lainey Garrett (21st, 31:07.79).
Harlan’s Chloe Schwenke placed eighth with a time of 25:55.75. Mia Pace (11th) finished with a time of 26:32.57. Abbigaile Jones and Juliana Damaa finished 17th and 20th with times of 27:35.41 and 30:26.80, respectively.
Harlan County and Harlan will return to action Saturday at the Black Bear Invitational/Area 9 championship at HC.
