Harlan County golfers Brayden Casolari and Cole Cornett dominated the opening match of the Pine Mountain Golf Conference season, tying with one-under par 35 through regulation at the Wasioto Winds course in Pineville on Tuesday.
Casolari claimed first place after two playoff holes.
Bell County won the team title with a 168, followed by Knox Central at 180, Harlan County at 188 and Harlan at 200.
Mason Himes shot a 55 for HCHS, while Sebastian Mosley finished with a 63.
“It was awesome being able to watch those two battle it out today in our first conference match. This is great for their golf games because it will prepare them for the region and state tournaments at the end of the year. I am very proud of both of the boys,” said Harlan County coach Brendan Rutherford. “Also, watching Mason and Sebastian today gives me high hopes for the rest of the year going forward as a team.”
Aiden Johnson led Harlan with a 38. Baylor Varner was next with a 49, followed by Brody Owens with a 51 and Kevin Thomas Lee with a 62.
The next conference match is set for Monday at the Woodlake course in Tazewell, Tenn.
