Harlan High School senior Aiden Johnson shot a 38 at Indian Springs Golf Course in Barbourville on Thursday to claim medalist honors in a Class A competition between Harlan, Barbourville and Pineville.
Harlan’s Baylor Varner finished in fourth place, shooting a 53. Kevin Thomas Lee and Brody Owens finished six and seventh, respectively with a 60 and 61.
In junior varsity action, Harlan’s Cayden Jackson shot a 57 while Carson Osborne pulled in a 58.
“I’m proud of all the golfers today. Most have never played this course. Aiden and Kevin Thomas have only played here a couple of times. Aiden is continuing to fine-tune to make a run towards the Class A and conference title, and I’m pleased with the improvements of all of my team,” Harlan coach Jeremy Lee said.
Harlan golfers will return to action with the Pine Mountain Golf Conference on Monday when they travel to Woodlake Country Club in Tazewell, Tenn.
