Lady Dragons sweep Middlesboro with a pair of 15-0 wins
The Harlan Lady Dragons improved to 11-3 on the season as they added four wins recently in middle school softball, including a pair of 15-0 victories over Middlesboro.
Adelynn Lewis pitched a no-hitter in the first game with six strikeouts and two walks. She also led the team on offense with a triple and double. Addyson Patton had a double and single. Harmonee Mills and Jerrah Phillips each added two singles. Taylor Glenn pounded an inside-the-park homer. Chrissy Saylor, Shaedyn Crow and Arianna Raleigh added singles.
Naziyah Ford pitched for Middlesboro, striking out one and walking nine.
Lewis struck out and walked three as she pitched a one-hitter in the second game,
Shackleford led the Harlan offense with two singles. Patton had an inside-the-park homer. Saylor added a triple. Lewis had a single.
Ford pitched for Middlesboro and gave up six hits and 11 walks.
Lewis pitched a one-hitter with eight strikeouts and one walk in a 16-1 win over Barbourville in three innings.
Lilly Daniels and Shackleford had singles.
Daniels hit an inside-the-park homer in Harlan’s 15-0 win over Pineville. Phillips added a double. Glenn, Lewis, Patton and Shackleford added singles.
Lewis struck out nine and walked two to earn the win in the circle.
Harlan returns to action Tuesday at home against Harlan County.
Lady Bears collect 17 hits in win at Leslie County
Harlan County pounded out 17 hits Tuesday in a 14-7 win at Leslie County in middle school softball action.
Raegan Landa pounded out two triples and two singles while Aniston Burton added an inside-the-park homer, triple and single to lead the Lady Bears. Bella Ford had a triple and two singles, while Bella Miniard added a double and two singles. Kelsie Middleton singled twice. Jaylin Robinson added a triple. Addy Estes contributed a single.
Maddy Fields pitched four innings with five strikeouts and five walks. Khloe Daniels struck out one and walked three in one inning.
