Falcons open season with win over Black Mountain
Green Hills placed three players in double figures on the way to a 53-2 rout of visiting Black Mountain on Monday in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Billy Harrison led the Falcons with 18 points. Pheonix Morgan and Arthur Harrison added 16 and 10 points, respectively.
Black Mountain won 34-13 in fifth- and sixth-grade action as Grant Anglian scored 13 points and Carter Burkhart added 10 for the Tigers.
Joshua Farmer led Green Hills with six points.

Wallins opened its regular-season schedule with a win Monday over visiting Evarts.
Leland Cope scored 12 points to lead the Devils to a 36-24 victory in the seventh- and eighth-grade game.
Caysen Farley paced the Wildcats with 17 points.,
Sam Carmical poured in 21 points in Wallins’ 36-28 win in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.
Carson Clark scored 14 to lead the Wildcats.
Evarts won 18-8 in a fourth-grade game as Ryder Shackleford scored eight for the Wildcats.

Shawn Smith tossed in 16 points and Kaydon Gray added 12 as Cawood completed a doubleheader sweep of visiting Cumberland on Monday with a 42-28 victory in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Dakota Smith scored nine to lead the Redskins.
Cawood won 47-34 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game as Isaiah Myers poured in 25 points.
Javonte Stewart led Cumberland with 17 points.
