Harlan County raced to a big lead early and held off a late Henry Clay run to claim a 50-43 win Saturday in Lexington.
Freshman guard Reagan Clem had a breakout game with 21 points to lead the 11-10 Lady Bears. Jayce Simpson added 13 points. Jaylee Cochran added five points and a team-high eight rebounds.
The 6-13 Lady Devils were led by senior forward Jayden Jeffers with 15 points.
The Lady Bears travel to Bell County on Tuesday for a girls/boys district doubleheader.

Harlan County improved to 4-4 in junior varsity action with a 26-18 win.
Kenadee Sturgill led the Lady Bears with 10 points. Vanessa Griffith and Shasta Brackett each scored five. Natalie Moore added four. Khloe Carr scored two.
