The Harlan County girls improved to 8-0 on the season with a hard-fought 5-4 win Friday at Whitley County. The HCHS boys fell 9-0 to fall to 5-3 on the season.
“I’m very proud of the fight we had tonight. It certainly was not our best night on the girls as we lost some crucial points at the bottom half of the lineup. Sometimes those nights happen, but to be able and have a bad night and claw out a victory on the road is something for these girls to be proud of,” Harlan County coach Caleb Bailey said. “The boys had their hands full against one of the best teams in the region. Elijah Moore played a very tight contest in singles and almost pulled it out. I was proud of what we saw tonight.”
Harlan County returns to action Monday at Bell County.
