Foutch tosses two-hitter as Redskins defeat Harlan

Balin Foutch pitched a two-hitter with six strikeouts and two walks as Cumberland coasted to a 12-2 win Monday in four innings over visiting Harlan.

Foutch also led the Cumberland (11-5) offense with a triple and two singles. Dakota Smith singled twice. Caleb Barrett, Nathan Harrell, Brayan Perez and Brycen Saylor added one hit each.

Harlan scored its two runs in the third inning as Nate Thomas walked ahead of doubles from Derrick Holman and Isaiah Pryor. 

Pryor, Braden Clark and Holman all saw action on the mound for the Dragons.

Daniels pitches shutout as Lady Bears down Knox Central

Khloe Daniels pitched a three-hit shutout as Harlan County continued its strong start this season with an 8-0 victory Tuesday at Knox Central,

Daniel struck out six and walked five to earn the win, and she also led the Lady Bears on offense with two hits and three runs scored. Aniston Burton, Lexi Boggs, Cayleean Yount, Campbell Thompson and Zoey Reed added one hit each.
