Wallins Purple Devils 6, Black Mountain Tigers 0
What many expected to be a routine matchup turned into a hard-fought battle, as Black Mountain challenged the top-seeded Wallins Purple Devils with an inspired performance before Wallins pulled away late for a 6–0 victory.
Black Mountain entered the match with postseason seeding ambitions, and that intensity showed from the opening kick. Strong defensive play kept Wallins off the board until Hunter Asher finally broke through at the 26:32 mark.
The score remained unchanged for much of the first half as Black Mountain continued to battle. Goalkeeper Drew Kelly came up with several impressive saves, including stopping a penalty kick attempt by Wallins. At midfield, Hunter Roark helped keep pressure off the Tigers’ defense by pushing the ball forward and creating promising attacks.
Wallins’ defense was also tested more than usual, having to work hard to stop Black Mountain’s offensive pushes and keep the ball out of the net.
The Purple Devils finally added another goal late in the half when Asher scored again at 3:55, giving Wallins a 2–0 lead entering halftime.
The second half continued in much the same way, with possession changing sides frequently and both teams battling hard. Wallins added another score at 11:08, and from there momentum began to shift heavily in favor of the Purple Devils.
Asher completed his hat trick at 9:03, then added two more goals at 3:38 and 3:19 to close out the scoring.
Despite the final score, Black Mountain showed strong effort and competitiveness throughout much of the contest before Wallins’ depth and offensive pressure eventually took over late.

Cumberland Redskins 2, James A. Cawood Trojans 0
Cumberland secured a 2–0 victory over James A. Cawood in middle school action, capitalizing on a shorthanded Trojans squad missing several players, including their leading scorer.
The Redskins struck quickly when Zach Smith rushed in for a goal at the 29:19 mark, giving Cumberland an early advantage.
Despite the depth issues, James A. Cawood continued to battle throughout the match. Cumberland maintained possession on the offensive side for much of the contest, but the Trojans still generated a handful of promising attacks. However, Cumberland’s defense stepped up repeatedly to stop those opportunities before they could fully develop.
The match remained competitive until late in the second half, when Smith added another goal at 7:00, providing Cumberland with breathing room and closing out the scoring.
James A. Cawood showed resilience despite being shorthanded, but Cumberland’s possession control and defensive play secured the 2–0 shutout victory.

Evarts Wildcats 8, Rosspoint Wildcats 0
Evarts closed out the regular season with a dominant 8–0 mercy-rule victory over Rosspoint, using steady offensive pressure and strong finishing to pull away after an early defensive battle.
Jesse Pendergrass opened the scoring at 28:28, but Rosspoint’s defense settled in and battled hard for a stretch, making Evarts work for every opportunity. The defensive stand was finally broken when Jace Hensley scored at 16:59. Pendergrass added another at 13:42, finishing a well-executed corner kick sent in by Aiden Napier.
Evarts struck again before halftime when Carson Clark sent a shot on goal that nearly resulted in a strong save by Rosspoint goalkeeper Rylee Wynn, but the ball deflected off her side and into the net.
The second half opened with one of the longest goals of the season, as Justin Coots launched a high shot from distance at 28:17, well out of the goalkeeper’s reach.
Mason Freeman, who is more commonly seen in goal for Evarts, added his first goal of the season at 12:40. Pendergrass continued his standout performance with another score at 11:35, before closing out the contest with his fourth goal of the night at 3:32, triggering the mercy rule.
Rosspoint continued to battle throughout the match, but Evarts’ offensive firepower proved too much as the Wildcats rolled to the 8–0 win.

Cumberland Redskins 4, James A. Cawood Trojans 0
With the No. 2 seed on the line, Cumberland delivered a statement performance, defeating James A. Cawood 4–0 behind a dominant showing from Zach Smith.
The first half was competitive early, but Cumberland broke through midway when Smith scored at the 7:46 mark. He quickly followed with another goal at 2:43, then completed a first-half hat trick at 1:38, giving the Redskins a commanding 3–0 lead heading into halftime.
Smith wasn’t finished, adding his fourth goal of the match at 11:29 in the second half to cap Cumberland’s scoring.
James A. Cawood, playing shorthanded due to illness, showed effort throughout and generated several offensive pushes, but were unable to convert against a strong Cumberland defense.
Cumberland’s win secures a key position in the standings, powered by Smith’s explosive performance and consistent pressure on both ends of the field.
