
The Harlan County Black Bears improved to 3-0 in the second week of summer basketball as the coasted to a 77-41 win Tuesday over visiting Pineville as six Bears scored at least eight points.
Senior guard Landon Brock led the HC offense with 17 points. Kaden Jones and Brady Smith added 11 each. Tucker Curtis scored 10, followed by Trent Cole with nine, Colton Delaney with eight, Rydge Lewis with six, Easton Engle with three and Hayden Grace with two.
The Harlan County freshman team overcome a seven-point deficit with 4:30 left to edge the Lions 39-37.
Caysen Farley led the Bears with 15 points and had two crucial steals in the closing seconds. Carson Sanders and Taylor Daniels added nine and eight points, respectively. Trey Creech scored five. Easton Engle added two.
Farley scored 19 and Engle added 15 as the Bears rolled to a 64-28 win in junior varsity action. Creech tossed in six. Brayden Gabbard and Daniels added five each. Blake Johnson scored three. Adrian Fields, Sanders and Pheonix Morgan added two each.
Harlan County returns to action Thursday in the Lindsey Wilson College Team Camp.
